Good news for all Jail breaking fans. Jailbreak fans can finally rejoice, as Cydia, A repository for non-Apple approved iOS apps. Jay Freeman aka Saurik, the chief brain behind Cydia (app) confirmed that it is back online following a problem with Amazon’s EC2 cloud computing service. Many websites including Cydia which used Amazon’s EC2 cloud computing services were affected by a major outage that took them offline.
He tweeted “After 86 hours offline, Cydia is finally back! I’m eating some celebratory cake, and am looking forward to a night with >1.5 hours of sleep!”
Its downtime meant that all purchasing packages using theme centre & managing cydia accounts became impossible. It took two days for Amazon to identify and rectify the problem that occurred at EC2 data centre, and one by one put the affected websites back online.
It now seems that all issues have been sorted and Cydia is functioning fully for all users. Yiipppeeee…! 😉
